About Our Chapter

consider it an honor to surround Moms and Dads with a community of
families who believe in them. We’re here when they need us most.

“My life goal is to ‘encourage wholeness’ in myself and others. I truly believe we cannot achieve this without being whole in Christ and working to toward it in relationships with others. One of our goals in Safe Families is to address social isolation with the families that we serve. Connecting families to do life together brings change and demonstrates the gospel to others."

Erin Cohn, Committee Member

Erin Cohn has her M.S.W. and currently works for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She has been working with children and families since 2001. Most of her career has included working with foster parents to support foster children, and supporting families in crisis situations. While working with families in challenging circumstances, Erin’s greatest prayer for these families was that they would be able to find at least one safe, reliable, supportive person to come alongside them during their time of need. It was during this time that she learned about Safe Families for Children, and has been drawn to the mission ever since. Erin and her husband live in Racine and attend Racine Bible Church, but her true passion continues to be supporting children and families in the Greater Milwaukee area.

Tom Koops, Committee Member

Tom is a CPA and partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. His connection to SFFC-MKE began through his wife’s Milwaukee inner city youth volunteer activities and family friends who were deeply involved in the organization. Tom and his wife have felt a calling to make a substantive difference in lives of those in need within the Greater Milwaukee community and as a result, joined the SFFC-MKE community as a Host Family. Tom and his wife have 3 boys ages 14, 12 and 9 and are members at Elmbrook Church. Tom is very excited about the opportunity to use his skills, financial expertise and home to help the Safe Families organization further its objective of caring for families in distress in and around the Milwaukee area. Tom and his family have a love of the outdoors and have a goal to see as many of the National Parks as possible before their boys grow-up. They have 3 boys and are members at Elmbrook Church.
